Administrative History
The David O. McKay Institute functions under the direction of the University's Research Division. The Research Division was created by President Franklin S. Harris in April 1921. The McKay Institute has two main missions: Service and Research, and other creative activity. The Institute is to serve the University, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the College of Education by promoting research that improves teaching programs and plans.
