John T. Dorcheus correspondence and genealogy
Scope and Contents
Correspondence, newspaper clippings, poetry, genealogies, temple record books, and miscellaneous items. The materials deal with Dorcheus, his family, and his genealogy. Most of the correspondence was between Dorcheus and his son, John Alexander Dorcheus, and other family members in 1918 when John was serving in the United States Army. John was killed in action on 7 Oct. 1918. One letter is from John Alexander's wife expressing grief at the loss of her husband. Also included is a "Branch Record" of the Clarks Creek Branch of the Mormon Church. It lists baptisms and confirmations from 1881 to 1925.
