Contains biographies about Evan Dee Olsen written by his mother Katie Olsen and a scrapbook of sketches and photographs from Evan Dee Olsen's time in the Army and as a prisoner of war during World War II. Also included are other ephemera dealing with his life. Dated 1941-1949.

Biographical History
Evan Dee Olsen (1922-1967) was active in U.S. Army Air Forces 1942-1945 and a prisoner of war (POW) in Germany.
Evan Dee Olsen was born February 1, 1922 in Ephraim Utah to James Andrew Olsen and Katie Christensen. He reported to the US Army Air Forces on August 3, 1943 and captured as a POW November 21, 1944 in Frankfurt, Germany. Beginning February 6 he was forced to walk the 600 mile "Death March" before being liberated on May 2, 1945 in Buchen, Germany. Later in life he was a salesman and draftsman. He married Maxine Edith Coates in Mount Pleasant, Utah on July 27, 1945 and was the father of eight children. He died in a plane crash on May 15, 1967 in Rupert, Idaho.
