General Note

Thin, glossy green cardboard makes up the back cover, front cover is not attached and consists only of a sheet of paper. Labeled "Book 8" in black ink on the front cover. Pages made of off-white paper, very lightly lined in blue. Entries made in black ink. Pagination has been added in the upper outside corners, in pencil, by a later hand. 84 numbered pages including front cover. Page 2 is blank.

General Note

Diary written by Huntington between July and September 1847. The diary covers the end of Huntington's mission to England, his return home by sea on the Empire, and subsequent work with home and family. Includes references to W. W. Phelps.
