Scope and Contents
Contains genealogical charts, family histories, and other family papers. A large portion of this series consists of short stories written by Susa Amelia Talmage, James E. Talmage's youngest sister. Most of the material dates from 1884 to 1931, with some additional family materials from approximately 1954 to 1978.

Conditions Governing Access
The thirty volumes of Talmage's personal journals have been reproduced on microfilm and typescript, and are available for use in either form. Use of the original journals is restricted.

The literary rights to the Talmage collection rest with the Harold B. Lee Library and the Talmage family. Permission to publish material from the James E. Talmage collection must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services at specialcollections@byu.edu.
Biographical history
Susa Amelia Talmage (1879-1908) was the youngest daughter of Susanna and Gabriel James Joyce Talmage. She attended the Teacher's College at Columbia University until her parents worsening health necessitated her return home.
