Scope and Contents
Letter from Orson F. Whitney to his mother, Helen Mar Kimball Whitney. The letter describes a situation that Orson recently defused where Brother Sharp's daughter married a Chinese man and Sharp was so angry that he was threatening violence toward his wife and daughter. Orson had to step in to show Sharp the error of his ways and urge him toward forgiveness. Dated January 17, 1878.
