Scope and Contents

Contains papers and audiovisual materials collected by Peter Brosnan for his research on Cecil B. DeMille's 1923 Ten Commandments film, which was filmed in the Guadalupe Dunes in California and excavated by Brosnan during his Lost City project. Includes audiotapes, videocassettes, 16mm film reels, interview transcripts, biographical research either typed or printed from the internet, press articles and clippings about the 1923 film, photographs, negatives, and notes. Interviews are with those involved with the production of the movie. Also includes nails from the making of the film excavated by Brosnan in Guadalupe. Materials dated approximately 1923 to 2006.

Biographical history

From the Collection:

Peter Brosnan was born July 6, 1952. He studied at the film school at New York University and became a writer and director. He is known for his most recent documentary, "The Lost City of Cecil B. Demille," as well as "Perfect Target" and "Hit List."
