Contains a riddle book belonging to William Bayard Weir, dated circa March 1878. Riddles are collected by famous authors on various subjects including scriptures and anagrams. The joke book was made by William's sister-in-law, Anna C. Weir and six envelopes contain loose papers found between pages of the book.

Biographical note
William B. (William Bayard) (b. 1849) was an army officer and a son of Robert Walter Weir and brother to J. Alden Weir.
William Bayard Weir was born on April 15, 1849 to Robert Walter Weir and Susan Martha Bayard. Weir was the Chief of Ordinance of the Department of the Platte. First Lieutenant William B. Weir was killed by Indians on October 20, 1879 twenty miles from the White river.
