This series contains correspondence between Allis Brown Stuart and R. S. Ellison, concerning the Granville Stuart papers collection, all dated in 1928. She was still living in Montana. Also included in the series is the copy of a lecture given by Mrs. Granville Stuart about the Stuart's trip to South America, and a list of books sent to Kessler.

This series is comprised of three scrapbooks, put together by Granville and Allis Brown Stuart, from 1865 to 1918, while they were living in Montana. The scrapbooks include newspaper clippings concerning cattlemen's meetings and Granville's death, along with letters of condolence to Allis.

Scope and Contents

This series contains Granville Stuart's writings, circa 1857-1915. Most of the writings are historical sketches or experiences that happened to Stuart throughout his career and travels. The majority of the writings deal with the cattle industry, expeditions and trips (such as navigating down the Missouri River), Native Americans, and pioneers. He also included weather records and reminiscences about his life. Stuart wrote most of these while living in Montana.
