Biography
George Armstrong Custer; b. Dec. 5, 1839 in New Rumley, Ohio; d. June 25, 1876 at Little Bighorn River, Montana Territory; U.S. cavalry officer; graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., 1861; served in the Civil War, became brigadier general; killed at Battle of Little Bighorn.

Robert Spurrier Ellison papers
Microfilmed copies of handwritten and typescripts of interview notes, correspondence, general notes, and lists. The materials relate primarily to the Indian wars of North America from 1866 to 1895. The original materials reside in the Ellison--Camp collection at the Denver Public Library. The items were initialy created and collected by Walter Mason Camp with some materials generated by Robert Ellison. Also included are typescripts of some of the items.

Collection includes correspondence with Custer historians (indexed), writings concerning the battle, research and reference files (indexed), maps and photographs of the battle site, biographical material on Kuhlman, memorabilia, and other papers.
