Wikipedia, via WWW (born October 5, 1864 in France; worked for his father, who owned a photographic firm; they made improvements to the still photograph process, most notable being the dry-plate process; they began to create moving pictures; patented multiple processes and pieces of equipment relating to the development of the film camera; first footage was recorded on March 19, 1895; decided later that the filmmaking industry had no future and turned their attention to still photography; In 1903, they patented a color photography process, the "Autochrome Lumiere"; Louis died June 6, 1948).

Collection consists of an autochrome photograph from approximately 1910 of two young girls in frilly dresses, one with pink trim and one with blue. The photograph is attributed to the Lumiere brothers, and has their names stamped on the passe-partout.
