Campbell expresses thanks for previous letters and tells of his preaching the "pure apostolic Gospel" and visiting churches. He tells of the missionary activities of his movement and of the successes in gaining new converts.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 24 June 1838, and addressed to "Mr. Lucas." Cambell writes about his health and mentions "I have finished the preface to Shakspeare & begun to the Life of Petrarch." Also included is a handwritten and signed letter addressed to "dear Madam." The item is not dated. Cambell writes that he regrets he cannot dine with her. With the collection is an undated etching portrait of Campbell.
