Biography

ames Alvin Jensen; American paleontologist; extensive collection program at Brigham Young University in the Utah-Colorado region which spanned 23 years; given the name "Dinosaur Jim" during media coverage of his activities; born August 2, 1918 in Leamington, Utah; worked in Mercur, Utah, Seward, Alaska; Salt Lake City, Hanford, WA; worked on the Manhattan Project, at the Utah Field House of Natural History; Museum of Comparative Zoology of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University; went to Brigham Young University from 1961-1984 to help develop the Paleontology Program; the BYU Museum of Paleontology was built around Jensen's collection; attended the University of Utah; died December 14, 1998.
