Biographical History

Carl Devon Larsen (1922-1983) was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an American POW during World War II.

Carl Devon Larsen was born on October 27, 1922. He grew up in Salina, Utah. He flew seventeen combat missions over Germany and occupied Europe during WWII. His B17 airplane was shot down by a German fighter plane on his 17th mission. He was captured by German troops on February 25th, 1944, and spent the balance of the war in a German POW camp. He stayed in Stalag-Luft 1 Barrack 2, room 11. After the war he stayed in the USAF and retired after twenty years of service. He died on October 1, 1983 and is interred in Sierra Hills Memorial Park, Sacramento, California.
