Biographical note

DeVon Carl Larsen (1922-1983) flew seventeen combat missions over Germany and occupied Europe during WWII. His B17 airplane was shot down by a German fighter plane on his 17th mission. He was captured by German troops and spent the balance of the war in a German POW camp. After the war he stayed in the USAF and retired after twenty years of service.
