The Deseret News (1850- ) is a newspaper published in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The first edition of the Deseret News was published on June 15, 1850, on a $60 printing press which had traveled 1100 miles to Salt Lake City. It began as a weekly paper, focusing on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as some national news. Today, it is still a widely read source of news and information as well as the official organ of the Church.

Newsclippings pasted into a blank book believed to have been created by James Duckworth. Most of the clippings were taken from the "Deseret News" and relate to Mormon Church topics including history and doctrine. Some of the items were written by Mormon Church leaders.
