Biography
The Banyan (1911-1985) was an annual yearbook published by BYU.
The Banyan was the annual yearbook of Brigham Young University, first pubished in 1911. It's name was taken from a statement made by Karl G. Maeser, former principal of Brigham Young Academy, in which he compared BYU to a banyan tree. It was supervised by the Student Publication Committee, and a majority of the work on the publication was carried out by students. The Banyan captured student life, campus events, and activities pertinent to the university. It was published until 1985.
