The Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (1942-1955) was an instructional unit at Brigham Young University.
The Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation was established in 1942 as an expansion of the Department of Physical Education. Part of the College of Education, it included greater course options, such as health education, physical education, and recreational opportunities. The department also administered the university's sports program. In 1955, the department became its own college, the College of Recreation, Physical and Heatlh Education, and Athletics.
The department chair was Charles J. Hart (1942-1955).
