Handwritten letter dated 1938 in which Adams states that she heard Martin Harris testify to the authenticity of the Book of Mormon in a speech given at the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1870. Also included is a letter by Henry A. Orme in which he outlines the life of Charlotte Adams, his grandmother.

The contents of this collection represent the research notes of Dale Adams regarding several important events in the early history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In many cases, photocopies of original sources are included in the collection. The main focus of the collection is the Ohio period of LDS history, with particular attention being paid to Solomon Spaulding (or Spalding) and D. Philastus Hurbut (or Hurlburt).

Materials include a photocopied letter from William Ajax (Centre, Utah) to William Lewis (Aberdare, Wales), dated March 18, 1893. Ajax writes about Wales, Utah, and the building of the Salt Lake City temple. He says that the fine quality masonry has been built by Welshmen. He also talks about his education, current interests, describes his emmigration from Wales to Utah, and discusses his opinions about Mormonism and religion. Dated March 18, 1893.
