Scope and Contents This collection consists of correspondence between W. Somerset Maugham and others, including Ken McCormick, an editor-in-chief, and a Mr. Shively. Several handwritten and typed letters are by William and a few are addressed to him. The letters discuss his writings and are dated from 1950-1961. All the letters are signed as W.S. Maugham. W. Somerset Maugham writings on Rudyard Kipling

Scope and Contents

Includes three drafts of William Somerset Maugham's 40-page essay about Rudyard Kipling's short stories. Fifteen short stories by Kipling are prefaced by Maugham. Maugham also includes an introduction and short biography about Kipling in his writing. Drafts are annotated and bound as 40-page booklets. One draft is dated March 4, 1952.
