In the interviews, Ella Marie Howard discusses her service in the U.S. Navy W.A.V.E.S. during World War II and her job as a secretary in Washington D.C. during the war. She also talks about her husband who served as an engineer in the U.S. Army and some of the experiences that he endured. The letters are one's she received during the war.
