Scope and Contents Contains materials relating to Joseph Arrington's study of the Nauvoo Temple. Arrington researched the architecture, possible reconstruction, and history of the Nauvoo Temple. He wrote and revised several manuscripts over a period of several years. His final work is titled "Temple-Building in Mormon Philosophy: The Spiritual Significance of the Nauvoo Temple for the Latter-day Saints" and was more than 2,500 pages long. Four color postcards of historic sites in Salt Lakes City, Utah, and Nauvoo, Illinois, related to early Latter-day Saint Church and Utah history. Postcards depict a compilation of images of the Joseph Smith Homestead, Mansion House, and the Nauvoo House; an artistic rendering of the Nauvoo Temple; the Lion House in Salt Lake City; and the Salt Lake Theater. The postcards were collected by Larry Faria. Dated approximately 1920s to 1940s.
