Dora D. Flack collection
The Dora D. Flack collection contains original manuscripts from her works inculding: "Preserving your Past," "Dry and Save-Food and Money," and the "Wheat for Man" manucripts. The collection contains the manuscripts in their published form as well as a copy of, "What about Christmas?" and "The Dutson Family History." Also enclosed is a bound compilation entitled "Sketches of how my books came to be" where Flack describes how she came to write her books.
Joseph Robert Meservy and Phebe Meservy Higbee notebooks
The Joseph Robert Meservy and Phebe Meservy Higbee notebooks consist of colored photocopies of the original notebooks. Joseph Robert Meservy's notebook begins in 1864 and contains a number of autobiographical notes, diary notations and summaries of pioneer business transactions. Phebe Meservy Higbee's notebook contains news and magazine articles, poetry, recipes, and family records. Both notebooks contain multiple pages of Pitman shorthand.
Recipes
Handwritten recipes. The items were written by different hands and there is no way to date them accurately. The recipes are for cookies, fruit cake, and mincemeat.
