This series contains Granville Stuart's research and reference relating to Montana's history, circa 1861-1916. Most of the series is comprised of cattle industry papers, mining industry papers, and political materials, along with a large group of miscellaneous items. Some of the items include letters, receipts, agreements, and programs, all pertaining to events occurring in Montana.
Granville Stuart papers
Collection includes information on the life of Granville Stuart, including diaries, correspondence, personal writings, sketches, photographs, and other materials. These items document his life from the 1860s to the 1910s. Also included in the collection are the papers of some of Stuart's relatives, including his brothers, James and Thomas, and his second wife, Allis Isabella Brown Stuart.
