Printed, handwritten, and signed invitation, dated 1898, and adressed to John Brisben Walker, an American editor. Allen requests that Walker and his wife attend a meeting of "our club," an unnamed organization, for "The Twelfth Night" (Epiphany) on 6 Jan. 1898 at the "Berkley Lyceum."

Typewritten and signed letter, dated 28 Oct. 1896, and addressed to John Brisben Walker. Brisbane states, "I replied by telegram to your letter of to-day. I shall be very glad to have the article which you are good enough to suggest. I hope we can get the matter not later than Thursday, so it may be put in type and carefully corrected before publication."

Handwritten and signed letters. Bacheller writes to "Dear Mr. Walker" (probably John Brisben Walker) on 14 March 1898 concerning how the circulation of an unnamed periodical may be increased. Bacheller suggests they hire a "first class solicitor" to help. Also included is a missive addressed to "Mr. Fynn" and dated 20 Nov. of an unspecified year. Bacheller writes, "I called it Darrel because he was the dominant figure of the book and indeed it's hero."
