The magazines include "The Friend," "Popular Photography," "Deseret News," "Relief Society Magazines," "Mountain West," and "Empire." Included are articles written by Celia Luce and accompanied by Willard photographs. Celia also wrote a bibliography titled "Willard and Me" which is included in the series along with the manuscript.

He served with the 96th Bomb Group in the European Theatre. In "There I Was: Remembrance of World War II" (several versions of which are included), he recalls first hearing about Pearl Harbor as a serviceman. In that piece he also recounts being taken as a prisoner-of-war by the German Home Guard after being forced to bail out...
