Includes a description of Abbott's life including his birth in Weber County, and life in Tocquerville and Plymouth, Utah, before moving to Bunkerville, Nevada, in 1877. He describes the stay of the Mormon Apostle, Wilford Woodruff, when he was in Bunkerville while dodging federal officials for polygamy. Also includes Abbott's marriage to Mary Leavitt in 1881 and life in Annabella, Sevier County, Utah, from 1886-1910, where he was involved...

Oral history interview with Lee Allen

Scope and Contents Transcript (32 pages) and audiocassette recording of an interview with veteran Lee Allen conducted by Mark D. Bell for the Ray Hillam project, dated approximately 1985. Allen went to Vietnam in 1962 and was never wounded. He discusses the brutality of the enemy during the war. He says that the United States press did a poor job in reporting the war, failed to note how brutal the enemy was, and wrongly indicated that the war could not be won. Eliza Ann Bennion diary

Scope and Contents Includes a 149-page holograph diary kept by Eliza Ann Bennion from 1871 to 1876, while living on the "Bennion Ranch" near Vernon, in Rush Valley, Utah. Records the daily activities of a young woman in 19th century Utah, including helping her mother, doing chores, and going to church and school. She also tells of visits to family members in Taylorsville, Utah. Most entries are brief and recount simple incidents.
