Scope and Contents

The letter from Brigham Young to Jacob Hamblin in this collection was written about one month before the Mountain Meadows Massacre took place. In it, Young appoints Hamblin to be president of the Santa Clara Indian mission and tells him to keep good relations with the Indians. This collection also contains four blessings given to Jacob Hamblin.

Photocopies of a file of 46 Higgs family history documents (120 leaves), including genealogy notes, pedigree charts, certificates, patriarchal blessings, clippings, temple records, and a talk B.T. Handwritten, leather-bound compilation of a journal, talks, and family records of Howells' family sewn together in one volume. Includes patriarchal blessings given to Howells' mother, Margaret Evans Francis, in 1853. Most of the items are in Welsh and do not have a date.
