Photocopy of microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Robert Allen Jones was born in 1854 in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and migrated to Utah in 1866. He settled in Henefer, Utah, married Elizabeth Jane Parker, and died in 1939.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed biography. Robert Jones was born in 1829 in England. He married Harriett Tipper in 1852 and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He migrated to Utah in 1866 and died in Henefer in 1906.

Scope and Contents Handwritten account of Keith's overland journey from St. Joseph, Missouri to Weaverville, California, in 1850. Keith paid a "Mr. Platner" to guide him and seventeen others to California. After being swindled and abandoned at Fort Laramie, Keith was furnished with provisions by the fort's commanding officer. The diary describes difficult travelling conditions, lack of feed and clean water for the company's animals, and problems with Indians. Keith also passed through Salt Lake City and gives...

Journal of travels through the American northwest

Photocopy of a transcript. The journal describes the travels of an unnamed individual through the states of Missouri, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and California as well as a return trip by sea from California through Panama. The document ends as the author approaches New York City by sea. Through out the journal the author gives descriptions of his surroundings as well as incidents. This item is dated from April 14, 1865 to Nov. 9, 1865.

Journey across the Sierra Nevadas

The author of the account was 11 1/2 years old when he made the journey from Sacramento, California, to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1860. He apparently recorded this event later in life. He uses fictional names and never identified himself or his family's name. An older couple decided they wanted to go to Utah at the last minute, and because his family's wagon was the lightest, they took the older couple with them. Along the way, they encountered a few difficulties and the old lady died.
