Scope and Contents Photocopies of microfilm copies of a handwritten diary. Parkinson wrote about his life as a Mormon in Franklin, Idaho. He told about working in Franklin's bookstore, going into the canyons to cut lumber, and working on a farm. He also wrote about the death of Brigham Young, second president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days, and floating logs down the Logan River to be used in the construction of the Mormon temple in Logan, Utah. John Steele letter

Abstract

A letter from John Steele to his wife, Catherine Campbell, dated 11 March 1878. Steele was serving a mission to the British Isles, in the Liverpool and Manchester areas. He tells of his feelings about missionary work and his desire for letters and information from home. He mentions people he is working with (e.g. “one of Bro. Heber C. Kimball’s sons,” Bro. Barrett, Bro. Dunford), and how the people are reacting to the missionary efforts.
