George Ezra Teasdale journal, 1898-1917

Scope and Contents

Journal approximately covers the years 1898-1903. Containing very little handwriting, it is mostly full of newspaper clippings related to the Blue Jay Mine in Beaver County, Utah that Teasdale managed when a vein of ore was discovered in December of 1902. The journal also contains several postcards from the Aurora Mining and Milling Company and printed ephemera related to a group Teasdale belonged to called the Ancient Order of United Workmen (A.O.U.W.).

Contains papers and materials relating to J. M. Boutwell's career as a geologist from 1900 to 1945. Includes many mining maps and reports in different regions in Arizona (Bisbee), Utah (Bingham), Mexico (Cananea), and Peru (Cerro de Pasco). Also inludes business and professional correspondence, profesional affiliations, and reports and surveys, many dealing with the United States Geological Survey, which he worked for from 1900 to 1908.

Teasdale family rare books, 1841-1851

Contains two books collected by the Teasdale family: Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens published in 1851, and The Beauties of Shakespeare selected by William Dodd published in 1841. Both of these books were gifted and regifted among various members of the Teasdale family. They contain inscriptions and signatures ranging from 1854-1929 from George Teasdale, George Ezra Teasdale, Emily E. Teasdale, and Frances M. Brown (Emily E. Teasdale's sister).
