Hart was interviewed by Daisy Whaley in 1937 as part of the Federal Writer's Project for the Works Progress Administration. The item includes handwritten corrections. Hart describes the work on the plantation and a "grovin' hog" which was a tool for harvesting wheat. Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript of an interview. Faucette was interviewed by Daisy Whaley in 1937 as part of the Federal Writer's Project for the Works Progress Administration. The item includes handwritten corrections. Faucette said his master and mistress treated him well and never whipped or sold him. He added that the Confederate Army did more damage to the plantation than did the Union. After the Civil War, the master let his father use a plot of land for a year.
