Baron Cuthbert Collingwood letter
1 handwritten letter (1 page); 22 October 1805; 21 x 33 cm; light blue "crown" stationary, with fine watermark; (unsigned) "General Order" dated "Euryalus Cape Trafalgar 22 Oct 1805." Letter written in honor of the British naval victory at Trafalgar the preceding day: "A day should be appointed of general humiliation before God, and thanksgiving for his merciful goodness."
Lafayette Frost letter and biography
Photocopy of a handwritten letter and a handwritten biography. The date of the biography is uncertain. The letter was written by Frost while serving in the Mexican War with the Mormon Battalion when he was in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Frost writes about the scenery along the line of march, his duties, a change in leadership, and about his illness.
Lord Frederick North letter and lithograph
Handwritten and signed letter dated 1 June 1779. North authorizes payment of over 8000 pounts to supplies of provisons for British troops in Canada. The item is also signed by Beauchamp, Palmerston, and Richard Atkinson, one of the suppliers. Also included is a lithograph of North made in 1833.
