Collection contains photocopies of missionary diaries of Emmett R. Hayes during his Mormon mission as the thirteenth missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to enter post-WWI Germany. Also contained are a series of photocopied outgoing letters from Emmett Hayes during this period to his family, primarily his parents. A small collection of mission-related ephemera is contained.

Scope and Contents Contains autobiographical writings, diaries, and audiocassette recordings and transcripts of oral histories with German members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living in Germany and Austria during World War II. Materials were collected by Roger P. Minert between approximately 2000 and 2011 as he was researching and writing two books, "In Harm's Way," and "Under the Gun," both detailing the lives of German Latter-Day Saints prior to and during the War. Scope and Contents

Contains audiocassette recordings of German members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints speaking about their lives, especially the period occuring during World War II, as compiled by Roger P. Minert. The histories were collected mostly through personal or telephone interviews between Roger and the member in either Utah or Germany. Materials created approximately 2000 to 2011.

Also contains transcripts of interviews conducted by Roger Minert with these members between approximately 2000 and 2011. All materials written and collected in preparation for the publishing of Minert's books on the subject.
