Abraham Alonzo Kimball diaries

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of three handwritten diaries. Kimball kept these diaries from July 1878 to April 1881. Kimball served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1878 to 1879 and writes about his activities at that time. After he returned to Utah, Kimball was called to be the bishop of the Kanosh, Utah, ward of the Mormon Church. He writes about his work as a bishop and about his political activities at that time.

Kirby was born in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852, performed missionary work in England, migrated to Utah in 1863 where he lived in several different places, took additional wives, joined the United Order, and went to prison for polygamy. Typewritten copy of a diary from 1840-1842. Needham writes about his conversion, missionary activies in England and Wales, faith promoting experiences, persecutions, and also gives details of the organization of branches in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including names and dates of baptisms and ordinations of the members. Also included is a five-page typescript of an autobiography written late in the nineteenth century when Needham lived in Logan, Utah.

Aaron Nelson diary

Handwritten diary with photocopies of the item. Nelson had converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1849.
