Scope and Contents This manuscript is a photocopy of Farr's autograph book. The book was apparently circulated among the inmates at the Utah Penitentiary who had been incarcerated for polygamy. Many of these individuals were important Mormon Church leaders on the local level, but one entry was by George Q. Cannon, a high official in the church. Herman Grether autograph album from the Utah Territory Prison

Contains autographs and personal notes written by various male Mormon Church members and leaders, circa 1887, convicted and incarcerated for polygamy (a violation of the Edmunds Act) at the Utah Territory Prison (Sugarhouse, Salt Lake County, Utah). The book contains testimonials, affirmations of LDS Church doctrine regarding polygamy, expressions of familial support, poetry regarding polygamy, and expressions of sympathy for Herman Grether.
