In addition, the minute book includes a membership list of the Mormon Relief Society in Cedar City.

Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten letters. Also included are typescripts of two of the items. The letters were written to Spencer's children when he was in St. Louis, Missouri and largely relate to family matters. Spencer gives fatherly advice to his daughters in a Mormon theological framework on how to conduct themselves and how to treat men.

Scope and Contents Typescripts of discourses. Young's remarks cover a wide range of Mormon theological ideas including sacrifice, obedience, and the nature of the biblical character, Adam. Young also talks about his relationship with Joseph Smith (1805-1844), the founder of the Mormon faith.
