Scope and Contents Photocopies of a typewritten letter, photographs, and newspaper clippings. The clippings were taken from the 1877 editions of Salt Lake Tribune newspaper. Mildenhall writes to "Duane" arguing that the whites killed during Utah's Black Hawk War (1865-68) and during other Indian uprisings in Utah were not killed by Indians but by Freemasons and Mormons. Photocopy of a 17-page handwritten autobiography. Paxton was born in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1854, migrated to Utah in 1863, worked in Parowan in 1864, moved to Panguitch in 1865, participated in the Black Hawk War against the Indians, and learned masonry at Toquerville in 1867. He also presents a copy of his patriarchal blessing.

Contains the papers of both Peter Gottfredson and Alice Hatch Gottfredson and dates between 1865 and 2001. Peter's materials include his research work on the Indian Wars, and his own account of Gottfredson and Gledhill family history. Alice's papers include photographs, newspaper clippings, a significant amount of correspondence, and family history records of the Keeler and Hatch families. Materials dated approximately 1865-2001.
