Diaries, field notes, correspondence, and maps. Gorlinski worked primarily in Utah and many of the materials relate to his activities in and around Park City, Utah. He was also associated with projects in other places in Utah and in sites in Nevada, California, and Idaho. The diaries cover the years 1909 to 1955 when Gorlinski was living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

P. Rothwell Crook diary

Handwritten diary describing a trip from Liverpool, England through various parts of the United States from 16 Aug. to 27 Oct. 1872. Crook visited numerous places in New York State, Canada, Illinois, and Michigan. He also visited Salt Lake City, Utah and gave a destription of that city and the Mormons living there in entries roughly 1500 words in length.

Scope and Contents Typescript with handwritten corrections and photocopies of the item. Boquist writes of her journey from Mt. Sterling, Van Buren Co., Iowa to California in 1862. She travelled on the Oregon and California trails staying three days in Salt Lake City, Utah, "a beautiful little city." The local inhabitants came to buy what they had to sell at higher cost than the items were worth, and they were warned by a Mormon widow against the tyrannical rule of Brigham Young saying many "were kept there...

John Christopher Cutler letter

Handwritten and signed letter dated 5 Sept. 1918 and addressed to John A. Widtsoe. Cutler writes concerning his nephew, Milton Cutler. Milton wanted to attend military training at the University of Utah and John requests information on how he may apply.

Theodore Bronson diary

Handwritten diary. Bronson writes about his journey by train across the United States with Morris K. Jesup, the sponsor and member of the trip. He describes the lands which he saw and gives his impression of Salt Lake City, Utah, and the Mormons he met there. Bronson also writes about his stay in San Francisco, California, including visits to various buildings and an opium den.
