Collection includes a copy of a handwritten account book, "Personal Account Book of John McLaws, Joseph City, Arizona;" a typescript volume of letters from colonists which appeared in the "Deseret News," describing in detail the history and development of the Mormon settlements on the Little Colorado River; and a copy of a hand-drawn map of Sunset, Arizona (1881).

Two handwritten letters to Ammon Tenney describing the condition of the crops that season, availability of water, and the general health of the community of Joseph City.
