Collection contains digital copies and transcriptions of William E. McLellin's original journal of 1871-1872, written after McLellin broke with all organized religion in 1869. It contains about 200 pages of his commentary on scripture and religious doctrines (a mixture of Mormon doctrinal theology, personal opinion, and traditional Christian theology). The style of this journal and the occasional address McLellin uses suggest he may have been writing this journal for publication.

Merrill urges Stacy to "come over and help us" by conducting a debate between J. Foster, a Universalist preacher, and Joseph Baker, a Methodist preacher. Merrill anticipates a favorable outcome for the Universalists. Scope and Contents Photocopies of a typewritten letter, photographs, and newspaper clippings. The clippings were taken from the 1877 editions of Salt Lake Tribune newspaper. Mildenhall writes to "Duane" arguing that the whites killed during Utah's Black Hawk War (1865-68) and during other Indian uprisings in Utah were not killed by Indians but by Freemasons and Mormons. Mildenhall says that these and many other killings in Mormon and Utah history were done according to the Mormon doctrine of Blood...
