McAllister writes about his father who served in the Methodist and Episcopal Churches. McAllister's father and the rest of his family were converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1860. McAllister migrated to Utah in 1861 but returned to help other pioneers to come to Utah. He served as a cavalryman in Utah's Black Hawk War and...
