It mentions briefly the expulsion from Nauvoo and travel to Council Bluffs as well as his being enlisted into the Mormon Battalion. Details all the mileage of his journeys as a member of the Battalion and finally his release and entry into the Salt Lake Valley. Mentions the death and burial of his daughter Eliza Susannah.
