Park writes about visits to the University of Deseret by leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Brigham Young and Orson Pratt, tells about hiring Karl G. Maeser, and describes educational financing and the nature of education in Utah.

Handwritten and signed letter dated 1 March 1878. Pratt sketches his biography, his baptism into the Mormon Church, and his travels on behalf of the church. He describes his contributions to science, mathematics, and church history. The last page of the letter details the growth of "Zion" and the destruction of the world.
