George Pectol autobiography

Two typewritten copies of excerpts from an autobiography. Some of the account is written in the form of a diary. Pectol writes about his conversion to the Mormon Church, his migration to Utah in 1850, and his life in Manti, Utah, starting in 1850. Pectol describes life in Manti including disagreements with his wife and encounters with the local Ute Indians before, during, and after the "Walker War" of 1853 to 1854.

Photocopies of a handwritten diary and a typescript copy. Smith's materials include an autobiography of his early life in Massachusetts and his experiences with the Mormons in Far West, Missouri. His diary starts in 1842 and includes information on where he lived and his experiences in the Mormon Battalion.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. Smith was born in New York in 1828 and joined the Mormon Church in 1839. He moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1840. He kept a diary during his service with the "Mormon Battalion" during the War with Mexico from 1846 to 1848. Smith married in 1850 and moved to Sanpete Valley in 1850. He lived in Manti, Utah, and wrote about his activities and experiences there.

Typewritten biographical sketches (photocopies) of Snow and his wife, Mary Ann V. Snow; ALS's (with typed transcripts) to his fourth polygamous wife, Sarah E.W. Snow, with a few to their children; a certificate of election, a deed, and a family group sheet (photocopies). Letters contain information pertaining to relations with his plural family, his missionary experiences in England, and the building of the Manti, Utah Temple. Includes cover letter by donor.

Handwritten lists of names and dates when temple work was done for them. The item records when persons were given Mormon rites by proxy in an unnamed temple, probably the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah. The records were apparently kept by Soren Sorensen and Karen Sorensen.

David Thygerson autobiography

Scope and Contents Typewritten copy of an autobiography with handwritten notes. Thygerson's account was probably written around 1938. He was born in Ephraim, Utah and went with his family to Colonia Dublan, Mexico to avoid prosecution for polygamy. He lived there until 1912 when he left because of the revolution in Mexico. Tax receipts, a bank savings book, a license, invitations, record book of temple work performed in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, memorandum book, and financial records. The receipts relate to property, water and other taxes, transactions with the Zion's Savings Bank, and Manti Temple reunion invitations. The materials also relate to the Cox family of Manti.
