The documents contain Martindale family correspondence from various states, and letters primarily from Utah about the settlement and establishment of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the West.

Typescript copies of correspondence, blessings, a biographical sketch, genealogy, a letter of recommendation, letters to Martindale from James Martindale (1856) and from Orson Hyde (1848), genealogical record of the Martindale family, a photograph of Martindale, and Martindale's patriarchal blessing by Hyrum Smith (1843) (some photocopies). Also includes TLS's from the donors.
