Biographies of ancestors

Typewritten biographies of ancestors of Rawlinson which relate life in numerous Utah communities in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Included is an excerpt from the 1857 diary of James Farmer.

Biographical sketch of Washburn Chipman

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed biography. Sadie Chipman writes about her father, Washburn Chipman. Washburn was born in Canada in 1829 and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1836. He moved near Nauvoo, Illinois, and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1847. He later settled in American Fork, Utah, where he died in 1926

Marie Sophia Larsen Christensen register of births

Photocopy of a handwritten list placed in a ledger book with the title, "Register of Births." Christensen lists the births of 463 children in Carbon and Emery Counties of Utah. She gives names, sex, nationality, color, date of birth, names of parents, and the location of the family's residence.

Mark Hofmann papers

Scope and Contents

Contains two historical documents (late 19th century) acquired by Hofmann during his LDS mission in England. Also includes notes taken by Hoffman during his mission, mostly containing references to gospel doctrines and contains a letter to Hoffman's wife, Doralee Olds Hofmann, related to selling manuscripts. Later installment includes Carbon County court documents and other items related to forgeries.

Diaries include mission labors in the Southern States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Biographical sketches are about parents, relatives, and friends including Mary Jane Gardner Miller, James R. Miller, Frank J. Taylor, E. J. Winder, Robert Gardner, and Reuben Miller.

Joseph A. Muhlestein letter

Handwritten letter in German, addressed to his parents, and dated 14 Nov. 1891. Also included is a transcript into a modern handwriting style and an English translation. Muhlestein writes about the conditions of his employment and the condition of the coal mines in Carbon County, Utah.
