After his family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he migrated to Utah in 1863 and settled in American Fork. He married Prudence Bourne in 1871, and they had 10 children. He died in 1934.

He migrated to the United States in 1851 and came to Utah in 1852 where he settled in American Fork. He died in 1868.
