Photographs of Post 36 memorial dedication
Contains negatives and their photograph prints depicting the dedication of the Explorer Scout Post 36 memorial in a remote area of Garfield County, Utah. The photographs (as well as some negatives), in addition to depicting the memorial itself, document the dedication ceremony, those who attended it, and the area surrounding the site. Materials dated 1993.
Diane Larson Porter scrapbook
Contains a partial copy of a scrapbook that covers the author/donor's elementary and secondary school years, church, and club activities and awards. It includes newspaper articles about a tragedy in 1963 involving several schoolmates and adults she knew, along with a memorial event 20 years later.
Ruth J. Rasmussen papers
Contains a scrapbook compiled by Ruth J. Rasmussen to record the Explorer Scout Post 36 accident in southern Utah in which 13 people were killed on June 10, 1963. One of these was Gary Lynn Rasmussen, 15-year-old son of LaRay and Ruth J. Rasmussen of Provo, Utah. Also contains various of family history and temple records for Andersson, Johanson, Frickberg, and Rasmussen families. Dated 1963 to 2003.
Leonard Woodward papers
Contains materials relating to the life of Leonard Woodward and his participation in and contributions to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) organization, particularly in Utah and the Utah National Parks Council of the BSA. Also includes photographs documenting recipients of the BSA's highest adult award from 1943-1975. Materials dated 1928-2010.
