Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Steggell was born in England in 1833, served in as a cabin boy on many sea voyages, and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Elizabeth Jane Bennett in 1856. Once Steggell was shipwrecked and nearly starved. He came to Utah in 1861. He returned to England from 1866 to 1868 to serve as a missionary for his faith. Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Mary Ann Smith was born in 1848 in England. Her family soon joned the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She came to Utah in 1868 and married Jonathan Steggell in that same year. She settled in American Fork, Utah, and died there in 1933.
